SERDANG, 18 December – The fourth and final series of the PutraSihat 10,000 Steps Programme 2025 concluded on a high note at the Laluan Ladang 16 area of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), drawing an encouraging turnout of 1,405 participants, comprising staff, students and members of the local community.
UPM Vice-Chancellor, Dato’ Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, said the fourth series offered a distinctly different route compared to the previous three, taking participants through the Faculty of Agriculture and Ladang 16, including challenging and unique off-road sections.
According to him, the choice of route not only added variety to the programme but also served as a key attraction for participants, while providing the university community an opportunity to explore the lesser-known areas of the UPM campus.
“Many participants experienced this area for the first time, allowing them to enjoy a new and unique experience while gaining a fresh perspective on the beauty of the UPM campus,” he said.
He added that the strong turnout and commitment demonstrated that collective participation extends beyond physical well-being.
“When we move together, we not only become healthier, but also more united, positive and resilient as a university community,” he said.

Ahmad Farhan also expressed hope that the success of the PutraSihat Programme would continue and be further strengthened next year through wider participation, more creative initiatives and stronger engagement with strategic partners.
“May the spirit generated today serve as a catalyst for the continued cultivation of a healthy lifestyle, rather than being confined to a seasonal event,” he said.
The PutraSihat 10,000 Steps Programme is a UPM initiative aimed at promoting healthy living practices while strengthening ties between the university community and the public through inclusive physical activities.
